New Weekend Program from the Producer/Creator of The Acoustic Storm
New York, NY – October 27, 2009 -- United Stations Radio Networks, Inc., (USRN) an independent leader in the creation and marketing of network radio programming, today announced that, beginning with the broadcast week of November 2, the network will begin distributing ORGANIC TRACKS, a new acoustic-based program created and produced by Jeff Parets, the host and originator of The Acoustic Storm which is also distributed by United Stations. USRN’s EVP/Programming, Andy Denemark made the announcement today at the company's Headquarters in New York City.
Organic Tracks is a weekly two-hour program designed for, but not limited to, broadcast on Adult Contemporary and Hot AC radio stations. The music-intensive show features a blend of hard-to-find acoustic versions of top songs from today's best-loved artists along with carefully selected and researched soft-music hits. Organic Tracks is hosted by Phoenix-based personality Zoe Moore, and the program’s flagship station, Adult Hits KPKX (98.7 THE PEAK) in Phoenix has been airing the show since mid-August. Recent episodes of the program have included rare, acoustic performances by John Mayer, Daughtry, The Fray, Ingrid Michaelson, Sheryl Crow, Matchbox Twenty and Jason Mraz. Organic Tracks also dips into an exclusive library of similar “unplugged” performances of hits from the 80s and 90s.
Creator Jeff Parets, a former Program Director at various Album Rock outlets, began producing The Acoustic Storm as a local show in Phoenix in 1998. He took that show into national syndication in late 2003 and then partnered with United Stations for the distribution of The Acoustic Storm at the start of 2007. It was The Acoustic Storm’s successful approach to acoustic rock that gave birth to the notion of providing a similar show for a different radio format, and the result is Organic Tracks.
In making the announcement, USRN’s Denemark noted that “The sound of Organic Tracks is so perfect for today’s Hot AC and AC stations that it was an easy choice for our lineup. Plus, it’s a treat for us to expand our relationship with Jeff Parets whose ear and instincts for what audiences want has always been ahead of the curve.”
Jeff Parets added, "It got to the point that there were so many great acoustic songs and live 'unplugged' performances that didn’t fit on Classic Hits and Classic Rock stations, it just seemed that creating an additional specialty outlet was the way to go. Of course, we’re psyched that AC, Hot AC and Adult Hits stations are telling us that the time is right for a show like Organic Tracks that provides acoustic versions to refresh and support the music libraries of those formats."
Organic Tracks joins United Stations’ dozens of other weekly offerings. United Stations Radio Networks, Inc. is America's leading independently owned and operated radio network. USRN currently produces and distributes dozens of format-specific programs and services accounting for nearly 5000 affiliations with commercial radio stations across the country. The New York-based company maintains programming, sales and affiliate marketing offices in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, Washington and Nashville. USRN was founded in 1994 by radio pioneers Dick Clark and Nick Verbitsky.
